What is probate, and when is it needed?

Probate is the legal process of administering someone’s estate after they pass away. It’s usually required when the deceased owned property or had assets over a certain value. We’ll help you check if probate is needed - and handle the process from start to finish if it is.

Can I write my own will without a solicitor?

You can, but it’s risky. A poorly written will might be challenged or even deemed invalid. We make sure your will does exactly what you want it to, legally and clearly, so there are no issues later on.

How long does probate take in the UK?

Every case is different, but most estates take six to nine months to complete. Delays often happen when paperwork is missing or disputes arise - which is why having a solicitor on your side can save you time and stress.

What’s the point of a power of attorney if I’m still healthy?

An LPA is there for peace of mind. It only comes into play if you can’t make decisions yourself, and ensures someone you trust can manage your affairs without long delays or legal issues.
