Cyber Crime

Cyber Crime

4.7.2-Dispute-Resolution

Cybercrime is a relatively modern concept

 and has become particularly prevalent during the coronavirus pandemic. Investigations into cybercrime can involve significant complexities and span across jurisdictions, it is therefore vital that legal advice is sought as soon as possible if you think you have been the victim of cybercrime.

In short, the term cybercrime encompasses any criminal act that is carried out using an ICT device. Penalties can fluctuate between two and ten years’ imprisonment for serious offences. In the most serious of cases whereby there exists a threat to national security, a life sentence is possible. Our team regularly advises clients on:

  • Cyber fraud and theft offences;
  • Cyber harassment and malicious communications;
  • Possession / downloading of indecent images of children;
  • Revenge porn; and
  • Offences under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

Prevention, advice, assistance, litigation.
